A. Usually, if you have deleted a file by accident, or a virus has infected your computer and deleted files, the data can usually be retrieved. Campus Computers offer a data recovery and restoring service. Click here for more information
A. A slow computer could be a result of many things. The most common problem is having too many programs running at the same time, which use up your computer's resources.
To combat this, you could either uninstall some programs, or upgrade your computer. We upgrade both computers and laptops. Why not call us to discuss your needs, and we will give you a range of options to get you back up to speed.
A. Wireless network security is vital. If your network is unsecure, you may get people using your internet connection for free, which slows down your connection, as well as making you liable for anything they do using your connection (downloading illegal material etc).
A more serious consequence could be someone using your internet connection to steal YOUR private information such as credit card details, personal identity, or they might even delete all your files on your PC.

Most of us aware of the damage that viruses can do, and that they are man-made! Yes, there are people out there who write this stuff with malicious intent. There are hundreds of new ones every week, some worse than others but all bad news for you and your computer. You could even get barred from the University Network. Virus removal can be tricky, which is why Campus Computers are expertly trained in completely removing viruses from systems.
Adware/Spyware/Malware is similar in some ways, but generally is more of a nuisance factor. But they can sometimes they be responsible for serious intrusuions like collecting private or finacial information. Any of these will slow down your computer, and will often redirect you to sites you don't want to visit, or can stop you getting online at all.
